METUCHEN—The Metuchen chapter of the American Field Service will sponsor a performance by Jean Shepherd, author, satirist and entertainer, Friday at 8:30 p.m. at -Metuchen High School.
Shepherd, who is also an actor. playwright and monologist, is heard Monday through Friday on radio station WOR and on Saturdays he broadcasts from the Limelight Cafe in Greenwich Village.
His book. "In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash.” was a best seller. For the third consecutive year, he was named winner of Playboy magazine’s humor-satire award. His latest short story, "The Return of the Smiling Wimpy Doll.” appears in the February issue of Playboy.
Tickets for the performance are available at Metuchen High. 3 to 4 p.m.
The American Field Service chapter brings high school students from other nations to Metuchen to study for one year. This year's A.F.S. student is Rita Camacho, of Ecuador. |
