Concert in the Park 8:00pm Adults $3, Seniors $2, Under 12 $1 Bernardsville News, August 10, 1978: Jean Shepherd Returns To Clinton Non-stop talking humorist, Jean Shepherd, returns to the Clinton Historical Museum Village on Saturday at 8 p.m. in the park behind the Old Red Mill. Shepherd, whose performance at the Mill last year was recorded and broadcast by PBS-TV, will have a completely new show this year. He has been performing and writing in his highly individualistic style for two decades. He has been an actor on the Broadway stage, done one-man shows at Carnegie Hall, and has been the host of a television series, "Jean Shepherd's America." All this was in addition to his nightly broadcast on WOR radio. Martin Jackson, writing in the New York Times, put it this way: "He is a tribal storyteller, trying to explain us to us." The program will appeal to all age groups. The concert will be held on the Museum's outdoor stage set against the backdrop of 150-foot limestone cliffs. Those attending are asked to bring lawn chairs. There will not be a blanket area for this concert. Hot Dogs and hot and cold drinks will be sold. Tickets are $3.00 for adults, $2 00 for Senior Citizens and $1.00 for children. Rain date is Sunday. | ||||||||||
