Waldo Grebb and His Electric Baton This story first appeared in the December 1964 issue of Playboy. It was later retold on the radio and in the book "In God We Trust - All Others Pay Cash". The main character's name changed several times during this process. Wilbur Duckworth and The Magic Baton It's Wilbur's final year leading the band and he wants to go out big. He drills the band relentlessly, honing them to perfection. Finally the big day comes and as they march down the street, Wilbur twirls his baton high into the air only to have it take a strange twist on the way back down.
