One of the "Old Man's" fishing buddies. On his August 23, 1962 show he fefers to Heinie Gertz (fellow worker at Bordens with the old man.) Had a kid named Bernice In the June 1964 Playboy short story "Hairy Gertz And The 47 Crappies" his name was 'Hairy" On his February 25th 1972 show he refers to Heinie Gerz.
