Shep's sixth grade English teacher in the short story "Miss Bryfogel And The Case Of The Warbling Cuckold"
She was killed 7am March 10, 1948 in a car/train accident in Hammond while she was driving with another teacher, William Rhodda, and a student William Llewellyn. All 3 were killed instantly.
She was actually a Hammond High School teacher for public speaking.
