"A Night in Venice" was the theme of this ball and Shep was one of the costume judges. How and why did he wind up judging a costume ball in Norwalk Connecticut? The Queen of the ball was none other than Lois Nettleton who at the time was known to Shep Fans as "the Listener" because she would always call his show in 1956. They also were corresponding with each other during his travels abroad at the time.

Think about it, friends. It's not just a possibility. It is a certainty." - Jean Shepherd - 1975
