The Distinguished Visitors Program

Shep appeared at the University of Massachusetts Distinguished Visitors Program in the Campus Center Auditorium at 8:00pm This was followed by a 'coffee hour' where these Emily and Richard Hoffman got their programs autographed. "We were graduate students at UMASS in 1971. My husband, Richard A. Hoffman, was studying Physics and I was studying Economics. So the calculus on the autograph could have referred to either one of us. I do remember he told us how expensive it was to own or rent a parking spot in NY city." (Emily) Interesting note about the program - the date says "Monday, February 7, 1971" but February 7th was a Sunday.
