Shep opens the show with a Dear Abby column in which a mother is distraught over discovering her 15-year-old son trying on her makeup.
It's not a commercial, but he goes into great detail about the Hassenpfeffer at The Blue Ribbon, a German restaurant near Madison Square Garden.
Shep was made an honorary MD at Raritan Valley Hospital following a benefit performance the previous weekend. He also received a restored propeller as a gift. He later took a phone call from one of the students who presented it to him.
