Shep left Philadelphia and moved back to Cincinnati for about a year before moving to New York to work at WOR where he remained for 22 years.

According to this photo in a WLW press release, the show was called "Midnight Madness"

In 1960 a book titled "Explorations in Communication" edited by Marshall McLuhan was published. In it was a chapter called "Channel Cat in the Middle Distance", a transcription of a Shep broadcast from WLW.
