Shep's Florida Home

Ladyfinger Lake Road, Sanibel Island, Florida 33957

Photo's courtesy of Damian  Housman "Skoonj"-

1.jpg (21152 bytes) Jennifer Housman in front of the left hand garage door
at the southwest corner of the house.
2.jpg (20078 bytes) Jennifer half way up the front steps on the landing.
3.jpg (25196 bytes) Jennifer at the top of the stairs, in front of the front door. The number of the house is clearly visible.  The paint on the number is quite faded, and there are other signs of wear that don't show up in the
picture.
4.jpg (23327 bytes) I think this is northeast corner of the house.  A stairway (where Jennifer is standing) goes up to a landing, then up to the 2nd floor lanai, which was closed.  To the left, obscured by foliage, is the antenna which shows better in another photo.  Down and to the right is a nice wooden door to the lower level, and the entrance to the lower lanai.
5.jpg (20077 bytes) Jennifer in front of the lower lanai.  The only object remaining in the lanai is the old chair shown.  The padding for the chair has been pulled up and stands against the back of the chair, though that's hard to make out.  Jennifer is standing about halfway along the outside of the house, on the northern (lakeside) facing.
6.jpg (58605 bytes) Jennifer again in front of that garage door.
7.jpg (24902 bytes) Jennifer and I in front of the same garage at the SW corner of the house, in the front.
8.jpg (18235 bytes) Jennifer standing in front of a nice wooden door at the northeast corner of the house, sort of next to the lanai and very close to the stair that goes up to the upper lanai.  It's the nicest door there.
9.jpg (36372 bytes) JP9 shows the double doppleganger whiz bang roger 10-4 radio antenna at the northeast corner of the house.  It's along the outside of the stairway going up to the 2nd floor lanai.  Jennifer came out poorly in this one, but the antenna came out very well.
10.jpg (19298 bytes) Another shot of the front of the house looking over the number toward the front door.

These pictures are from a second trip he took to the house

dh1.jpg (29539 bytes) Jennifer in front of the house, southeast corner, front.  You can see the garage door on the lower level, and a window from the upper level.  There's a lot of foliage obscuring the main portion of the house.
dh2.jpg (28535 bytes) The front of the house, showing garage on the lower level, and a window on the upper level.  It's a virtual mirror image of the right side of the house.
dh3.jpg (28130 bytes) A photo showing the stairway to the front door on the left (west) side. Next to the garage door is another entrance to the garage/basement area, though the door itself is not visible.  In south Florida, basements are built above ground if at all, since the water table is very high.
dh4.jpg (24587 bytes) This shows the front door area, with the stairs leading up to the front door itself.  The red object is a wooden bird.  The roof over the central living area is visible.  Ceilings are said to be quite high.
dh5.jpg (20697 bytes) Photo shows the right (east) garage door and upper windows.  The automobile belongs to me, not Shep.
dh6.jpg (25334 bytes) Photo of east side of front.
dh7.jpg (27452 bytes) Photo along the east side of the house, taken from the front.
dh8.jpg (26842 bytes) Photo of the front of the house, taken from the east. The stairway up toward the front door is similar too, but not a mirror image of the one on the left side of the house.
dh9.jpg (19662 bytes) The front door has a section covered by glass, so this photo is a reflection of me in front of the front door.

dh10.jpg (18628 bytes) Taken from the front of the house, looking toward the rear, along the west edge.
dh11.jpg (28991 bytes) Behind the house, aimed toward the lake. It's completely overgrown.
dh12.jpg (45306 bytes) Behind the house, aimed toward the lake. It's completely overgrown.
dhd13.jpg (29570 bytes) This photo is of the northwest corner of the house, looking toward the upper lanai.  It's showing signs of wear and tear.
dh14.jpg (24374 bytes) The rear of the house, aiming at the northeast corner. There are two lanais on this side, upper and lower, and a stairway.  Some of the wires may well be an antenna from a ham radio, but that's not possible to tell at this point.
dh15.jpg (27011 bytes) Jennifer at the base of the stairs at the northeast corner of the house. The antenna doesn't show because of lighting conditions, but is there.
dh16.jpg (20165 bytes) The upper lanai.  There are a few artifacts from the
tree and wires from a possible antenna mixed together.
dh17.jpg (13789 bytes) Some of the deterioration of the exterior.  There is some peeling of this panel from the upper level.  This is at the northeast corner of the house.
dhd18.jpg (53404 bytes) I had to take another shot at the double-banger roger 10-4 big time ham
radio antenna at the northeast corner of the house.
dh19.jpg (29337 bytes) The northeast corner of the house, taken from the side. Shaft of the double-banger 10-4 roger antenna is shown along the stairway.
dh20.jpg (29381 bytes) Another photo of the right front of the house.
dhd21.jpg (47840 bytes) This is the community bulletin board, next to the mailboxes, across the
street.  The original is a little sharper, but two things stand out. One is that this neighborhood is called The Ridge.  Second, the article from the Times Magazine is shown (Voice In The Dark), posted on the board.  Since it came out after New Year's Day, some one there is paying attention, and liked Shep.

dh22.jpg (28233 bytes)

The mail boxes for the neighborhood. They are quite secure, and located across the street from the house, and slightly west. The satellite photo on this site clearly shows the tennis court. There is also a pool near the court.  The reason I took this photo is because I was curious as to why I didn't see any mailboxes on the street.  A friendly neighbor pointed me here.

dh23.jpg (19777 bytes)

Another photo of the upper left (west) living area.
