Georgette Mosbacher -- born on January 16, 1947, to George M. and Dorothy ("Dee") M. Paulsin of Hammond, Indiana -- became the stepchild of Shep's brother, Randy, after her mother married him in about 1955. Georgette's father, a recipient of four bronze stars in the Pacific during WWII, died in a car accident in 1954. Dee had three other children with her former husband: George, Lyn and Melody. Georgette (named after her father) was a 1965 graduate of Hammond High School, and a 1970 (or 1969) graduate of Indiana University. She has been married and divorced three times, the last time (1985-1998) to Robert Mosbacher, the secretary of commerce under President George H. W. Bush. She made her fortune in cosmetics, and is a noted socialite and Republican political activist. |
